About

Claire’s sculptural vessels are inspired by the rich textures, colours and shapes of natural forms and landscapes: fragments of sea-worn shells, the rock formations of a battered coastline, a curl of split bark, the dancing light and shadow of woodland.

Working with steel, copper and gold leaf, Claire also draws inspiration directly from the characteristics of the medium, allowing the metal to suggest a direction and bringing this together with intentional artistic elements. Strong forms work together with complex surface textures and colours to create pieces that have a powerful organic character.

Claire works from her studio in rural Herefordshire; her pieces are exhibited widely in the UK and internationally.

Claire is happy to discuss commissions.
